Freedom Park Elementary & Middle Schools,
Fort Gordon, GA – December 14, 2010Ā
In December 2010, the Armed Forces Families Foundation donated $21,000 to the Richmond County School Board to fund a mobile computer lab for Freedom Park Elementary School at Fort Gordon. The computer cart, which can be easily moved from classroom to classroom, includes 24 laptop computers with wireless internet access and antivirus software, which was recieved by the school in February 2011.
The elementary school mobile computer lab replaced the elementary school’s older computer technology and in addition to enhancing classroom curriculum, allows students to video chat with parents overseas. The mobile laptop cart also allows teachers to conduct parent / teacher conferences via video chat with parents that are deployed.
The Armed Forces Families Foundation completed a similar project for Freedom Park Middle School at Fort Gordon as well, contributing $36,500 to fund its second mobile computer lab with 26 laptops for the benefit of those students in January 2012.
