AFFF supports expansion of USF St. Pete Military & Veterans Success Center with $120,033 gift
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Armed Forces Families Foundation provided a check for $120,033.76 to help support the inside-out expansion of the University of South Florida (USF) St. Petersburg Military and Veterans Success Center, opening up the old veteran’s lounge into the adjacent patio area. The renovation created an outdoor respite and teaching/ living learning space.
The money helped by allowing the following improvements to the space. New interior vinyl flooring was brought in to replace the previous carpet. A refreshment center was constructed. New exterior composite wood decking, a wooden shade structure, and exterior teaching wall consisting of a white board panel wrapped with decorative wood, linear planters and plants and a new television helped to complete the interior and exterior lounge space.
USF is continually ranked among the top schools in the nation for being “Best for Vets” by Military Times Magazine.
