MacDill Air Force Base Playground
MacDill Air Force Base
Tampa, FL – November 20, 2013
At MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL, the Armed Forces Families Foundation contributed $48,000 to upgrade the facility’s recreational area. MacDill Air Force Base employs over 13,000 active‐duty military & civilian personnel, and encompasses over 5,700 acres, many of which are on protected wetlands. This project satisfies a significant need for the base by providing a safe place for children to play, and the playground installation generated a dramatic increase in the use of the outdoor recreation areas for the families and children that are on base each year. The project was completed in November, 2013, with the ribbon cutting held on November 20, 2013.
