NC USO Centers to receive $22k in new technology upgrades
USO of North Carolina
North Carolina
USO of North Carolina locations across the state received a major technology upgrade thanks to a $22,179 donation from the Armed Forces Families Foundation.
The funds went towards the purchase of sixteen ThinkCentre M820z, Intel P Gold G5400 laptops, eighteen ThinkPad Intel Core i3-8130U tablets and six Lenovo Ideapads. The new hardware replaced outdated and worn equipment at computer centers and USO of NC office locations in Charlotte, Fort Bragg, Raleigh, Fayetteville, and Jacksonville. Collectively, the USO of NC centers serve approximately 368,000 military visitors annually.
With these upgrades, USO of NC centers are now able to further improve the quality of visits for service members and their families, who rely on the computer labs for research, entertainment and to communicate with family and friends. Offering a place for service members to stay connected to their friends and family is key to the USO’s mission
