AFFF provides 93k to Bay Pines VA for veterans sports program

BAY PINES, Fla. – The Armed Forces Families Foundation (AFFF) is providing $93,930.29 to the Bay Pines Veterans Affairs Healthcare System (BPVAHCS) for a sports program for American veterans.

The Bay Pines VA is establishing an Adaptive Sports Program which will include an Americans with Disabilities Act Compliant kayak launch in phase one of its project, and a fishing pier on currently unused waterfront property in phase two of its project.

The Adaptive Sports Program will help wounded veterans improve both their mental and physical health, and will show them that their disability does not prevent them from living a full life.

BPVAHCS is one of the nation’s largest Veterans Affairs healthcare systems.
