AFFF provides $25,000 for Bob Hope Legacy Reading Program in KY, GA, NC
TAMAP, Fla. – The Armed Forces Families Foundation has provided $25,000 towards to the purchase of cameras and electronic equipment to support the Bob Hope Legacy Reading Program at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Fort Stewart Georgia and Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
The camera equipment will be used by service members who deploy oversees, so they can read books to their children back home while they are deployed in southwest Asia.
While Skype is sometimes available, many times the extreme conditions surrounding locations of deployment make it impossible to utilize Skype or other video teleconference applications. Consequently, the demand for this program has grown exponentially.
Recognizing the challenges military children often face when dealing with separation, the Bob Hope Legacy Reading Program makes it possible for military kids to share story time with their loved ones.
